The concept is fairly simple. We break events down into cities like Atlanta (geography) and into social circles (behavior) like live music or fashion. This filters out the “extra noise” and makes it really easy for people to find events that are relevant to them.

Once a user finds an event they would like to attend, they can RSVP for an incentive (a requirement for each event) such as complimentary or reduced admission.

This is where things get pretty cool. Each user can set up their Clique – the small group of friends they attend events with the most. As soon as a user chooses to RSVP for an event, the friends in their Clique are automatically notified of the user’s intention to attend. For example, Nicole’s best friends are Ashley, Jennifer, and Ashton. When Nicole decides to get on the guest list for Verve Lounge on Friday July 11th, Ashley, Jennifer, and Ashton are all sent notifications saying “Nicole is attending Verve Lounge this Friday. Would you like to attend? Click here to RSVP”. It’s word-of-mouth gone digital!

We created this app because people were telling us that they were getting extremely frustrated with the daily bombardment of emails, text messages, and invitations on MySpace and Facebook for events they weren’t going to attend in the first place. We wanted to make it easy for people to find relevant events and ensure their closest friends enjoyed with them.

To take the DIGITALGUESTLIST application on a test drive, click here.

We’d love to hear your thoughts – the good, the bad, and the ugly.
